At Pennine Academy we believe in a mixed dance education meaning every student will learn all the core subjects taught here within their weekly dance class. We teach in this way to give every dancer a strong foundation through exposing them to a variety of techniques. Each style of dance has transferable skills that complement the others. This creates a rounded dancer who has a breadth of knowledge and experience should they wish to take examinations or follow performing arts vocationally.

Street/Modern:
An energetic style incorporating modern culture and music within a theatrical element. A style that no doubt everyone has seen on television, in music videos or on stage. It is a fusion of elements of street dance, jazz and commercial dancing. This style is ever changing and moving with latest trends and new styles and techniques that are created. There’s plenty of room for creativity and choreography and even a bit of freestyling!
